Bountiful WiFi To Provide Wireless Internet Access at Olympic Qualifying Event
The Bountiful Router, which provides a wireless coverage area two to four times larger than any other wireless solution available, will be used by US Figure Skating officials and judges.
WOODS CROSS, UT, October 18, 2005—Bountiful WiFi announced today its official sponsorship of the 2006 US Figure Skating Central Pacific Regional Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 19-22, 2005. Bountiful WiFi’s Bountiful Router will be used to provide wireless Internet access to US Figure Skating officials and judges.
“When Salt Lake City hosted the Olympic Winter Games two years ago we realized how important it was to support not only the athletes but also the officials and event organizers,” said David Egbert, President and CEO of Bountiful WiFi. “During the Olympics we supported the athletes by attending the events and now with this competition we get to support the Olympic movement in a different way – by providing officials with a powerful wireless Internet connection.”
The Bountiful Router is a first-of-its-kind wireless router that expands the coverage area by as much as two to four times, while reducing contention in the network.
Most routers provide a wireless signal of about 100 milliwatts and are unable to penetrate surfaces such as concrete, steel and water that commonly weaken a signal. Due to its patented design, the Bountiful Router operates at just under1,000 milliwatts, the maximum level allowed by the Federal Communications Council (FCC). Its innovative design allows users to achieve the maximum signal even through barriers that would normally weaken it.
Over 250 skaters from California, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah will participate in the Central Pacific Regional Championships. The US Figure Skating Central Pacific Regional Championship is a must for any athlete hoping to compete in the upcoming Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy next February. In order to qualify for the Olympics athletes have to participate in official qualifying events of this type.
